Washington Marketing Job Industry

Among the top 25 jobs in King County, based on the number of estimated job openings to become available in the next few years, are key marketing industry positions, as reported in the most recent Washington State Employment Security Department Job Vacancy Survey, published by the Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County. According to the survey, in the coming years some 326 jobs will become available to market research analysts and another 321 are expected to become available to marketing managers.

These jobs will be the basis of lasting careers, as all vacancies are expected to fill full time positions. The income these jobs will generate will be among the highest when compared to other high-paying professions that are expected to see openings in the coming years. The Workforce Development Council report revealed that the jobs opening up to market research analysts are expected to pay an average of $86,299 yearly, while the marketing manager positions becoming available in the Seattle area are expected to pay an average of $124,342.

The 6,010 marketing managers working in Washington, as of the Bureau’s 2011 survey, earned an average of $128,500, with those in the 90th percentile averaging $186,660.
The Bureau’s occupational classification for market research analysts and marketing specialists showed that some 9,960 Washington state residents were employed in these roles. The average salary among these professionals was $78,620, while those representing the top ten percent earned $129,940 on average.
Advertising and Promotions Manager Salary
During 2011, there were 530 advertising and promotions managers working in Washington, the majority of which were located in the Seattle, Tacoma, and Bellevue areas. Their average salary statewide was $97,140. However, managers in the top ten percent were noted to earn $53,520 more at $150,660 on average.
Market Research Analyst Salary
During 2011, there were 9,960 market research analysts and marketing specialists working in Washington with most being employed in Seattle, Bellevue, and Everett. Their average salary statewide was $78,620. However, analysts and specialists earning in the top ten percent averaged $51,320 more at $129,940.
Marketing Managers Salary
