Evariant Chief Marketing Officer Shares Advice to Women in Business

Kristin Hambelton was recently the subject of a Women & Business interview in which she spoke about her experiences in marketing and how she came to become Chief Marketing Officer of Evariant, a leading healthcare software company.

Hambelton held a marketing leadership role for many years at companies that include Adobe, Kronos, IDC and Digital Equipment Corporation. She has been honored with a Bronze Stevie Award for Women in Business Female Executive of the Year as well as various other marketing achievements.

When asked how her life experience has impacted her career as a marketing leader, she credited her strong work ethic as well as working with people of all backgrounds, personalities and work styles. She says always made sure to learn as much as she could throughout every job and experience.

Hambelton is now in charge of inside sales and marketing at Evariant and says there have been many opportunities to learn since joining the company. One of the biggest highlights of her new role has been interacting with employees and clients to determine what they think of the company and its products. She says the experience has taught her a lot about the company.

She advises women who want a career in the B2B industry to gather experience from as many places as possible. She also advises to always think ahead to the next job and always build your network.

Hambelton admits that keeping a work/life balance has been difficult but says that her husband has been a great help in their family. Still, she acknowledges that women are still expected to carry the majority of domestic responsibilities. Her advice to women is to let go of the quest to be perfect. “I can’t do it all so I tried to at least be good at them. I accept help where it makes sense,” she said.

Hambelton’s goal is to become the leading provider of healthcare CRM software and said she is excited to be part of something bigger.
